Too many of us try to go the “good” route for growing up. Going to school or getting training and getting a job that just pays the bills just enough. But too much of the American Dream has turned toxic. We are supposed to take the best years of our lives to just work and raise a family. Vacations should be short so we don’t burden our job with having to find someone to cover us.
But that shouldn’t be how it goes. We get paid for our time and when we want time off then we do not get paid. That is the basic transaction. So really at any point, we should be able to get time off to do whatever we want, and not have to explain why we are doing it. And Sharla helps in her coaching business just how we can find that work that fills us more and gives us the things we need.
We are all so disconnected from ourselves. Everyone wants something different in life and the tried and true path won’t work for everyone. The ultimate thing to look for is to build a lifestyle you want. Whether it’s more freedom (me), traveling more, or just getting to do all the hobbies you want.
