Introvert Celebrities: Music Edition
For so many people they don’t think introverts can be in the limelight, and be good at it. Yes, for a lot o us we do not like being the center of attention, but that’s not all of us. Some really like to perform and be around people in certain situations and settings. They can just set things up so they have plenty of time to rest after. There are some of my favorite Musicians that are clearly introverts.
Prince
Prince is a source of pride in Minnesota. Not everyone loved his music, but he was never problematic and was very philanthropic. And he was eccentric. Which was part of his charm. You seriously need to search some of the stories out there about there. Even the ones that Dave Chappelle talks about. But he was also very private. Not one to go around from party to party. Creating his music was what was important.
Bob Dylan
Was also very private and rarely did interviews. He did not attend any award shows, not even the one where he was being awarded a Nobel Prize. His lyrics even showed some of his introversion.
Mistake your shyness for aloofness, your shyness for snobbery
Jennie: Blackpink
I’m gonna go the Kpop route now. Yes, I am a big fan and their atmosphere is more public and can be more demanding. There are videos out there showing Jennie doing mic checks and choreo walk-throughs with very little energy. And many see that as her being lazy or not liking her job. What I see is someone saving their energy. Everyone has different energy levels and can’t be “on” all the time. In their documentary, she clearly shows that she needs more time to recover after performances.
Suga / Yoongi: BTS
If anyone knows anything about BTS knows that Suga is very much an introvert. Jokingly nicknamed grandpa because he takes a lot of time to himself. Taking naps and just sitting to the side scrolling on his phone. There are a lot of interviews where he sits back more than the other members, talking when needed. But on their own, he can be high energy and silly since it’s just them as friends.
