4 Important Aspects of Successful Self Help

Self help is an important part of life for many people - and luckily, it keeps improving as time goes on. Here are four important aspects of self help that make it more successful and useful in our everyday lives:

Everything doesn’t need to be “uniform”

  • There isn’t one right way to do something that will work for everyone. Some people use medication, some people use meditation, some people use talk therapy, etc. Self help isn’t “one size fits all” and that’s why it’s important that it’s versatile and offers different techniques for different types of people. Less uniform self help also offers a lot more actionable steps, instead of intangible philosophies or ways of thinking.

There’s much more research out there today than we used to have

  • As science advances, we are able to learn more about what’s going on both mentally and physically within ourselves and others. Further, we can learn more about it as a whole as we have more access to published research and different studies on biology, psychology, etc. that can help our understanding of it.

The higher the price point, the more individualized it gets

  • There are so many great ways to get more personalized self help, including individual coaching, group coaching, online lessons, workshops, etc. In today’s world of self help, the more money you spend, the more you can get out of it! This is great as some people need more specific help in certain areas, where other times a more general outline will suffice.

We have a say in our self help

  • We get to share our opinions and give feedback, letting others know how successful certain self help opportunities are, including what worked and what didn’t.
