Back To Basics Of What An Introvert Is
I feel like I have to revisit this twice a year. Not just with people who are new to the actual concept of “introversion” but people around me who should know better.
an introvert is someone who prefers calm, minimally stimulating environments. Introverts tend to feel drained after socializing and regain their energy by spending time alone.
Honestly, I wish that Merriam-Webster who actually change their definition. Yes, many are reserved or quiet, but that is not all that they are. There is so much research out there saying shyness is an entirely different thing.
This is not an exhaustive list of things introverts are/are not or do/do not have. These are just the ones I’ve heard over and over again recently
we are not anti-social
we have friends
we can do things in the spotlight
we want to go deep
it is not a difference between “normal”
Sometimes you just don’t want to talk. Why not have something that says it for you?
