The Passionistas Project: Interview with Amy and Nancy
The Passionistas Project is a Media Company, Podcast, and Subscription box, with more on the way. My kind of ladies with doing and trying anything they want. They wanted to showcase and highlight other awesome women in the world.
The tides are really changing in the country, we felt like we wanted to do something a little more important. But we didn't know what that was yet until the #metoo movement really came to the forefront. And so we decided that in addition to hearing these stories about women who were not being treated well, we also wanted to tell the stories of empowered women who were following their passions. So in the hopes of inspiring other women to do the same thing. So that's when we started the Passionistas’ Project. It is a media company that we have a podcast, have a subscription box, and we're doing live events, so and everything is focused on empowering women.
Karen Herman, who mentored us, was very generous and giving in her spirit, but it wasn't until we started the passionistas project and started our goal is to spotlight these women to shine a light on these women and all of a sudden it was getting turned back around on us. And they were all saying ‘how can we support you?’ How can we all help each other?
And now we've been working on a project the last couple weeks where we literally have had to reach out to quite half of the women we've interviewed. And every time we send an email asking for something, we're really nervous, and then we get these responses back that are just so open and giving and wonderful and if it's just a reminder to us that if we all support each other, then we're all going to get further because everybody's in the same boat. People think that it's a hobby or a side thing or they don't really necessarily believe that we are going to pull it off. But if we all support each other and doing what we want to do, then we're going to get there.
